While not originally part of the 'Gilded Wildflowers' collection it takes the same inspiration. I paint wildflowers(some call weeds) and treat them as if they were roses, and tulips and frame them in gold. This work was created during my Artist's Residency in Cygnet at Balfour House.
A little yellow flower that I find towering over me. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy painting these - I thought they might be a bit repetitive - but completing this study proved me wrong. I loved that they were quite a green yellow and creating the texture of the overlapping petals was a delight.
