Part of my 'Gilded Wildflowers' collection, this work was created during my time living on the West Coast of Tasmania and the flowers I came across. I painted wildflowers(some call weeds) and treated them as if they were roses, and tulips and framed them in gold.
This particular flower found its home in my front yard amongst the wisteria, planted by Mother Nature herself. I loved the way the shape of the flowers dropped, but the structure and texture of the leaves held my interest even more.
This particular flower is known by the name 'Elisha's tears' and is a declared weed in Tasmania.
